“New Year, New Baggage”

It’s a new year and a new decade but you should still be the same you, just with less baggage. To say “new year, new me” indicates that you haven’t been your true self or you’re transitioning into a “new” person, when in reality you just don’t know who you are. Throughout the years we meet people and we take on their emotional baggage, their baggage mixed with our baggage begins to weigh us down without notice and the longer we hold on the heavier the load gets. As the years go by we take on more and more emotionally damaged people because that’s what you attract when you’re accustomed to emotional damage. In the end you realize that you really haven’t changed you’ve just taken on more dead weight than you could handle, which in turn has caused you to forget who you really are. This year leave the faulty resolutions behind and set realistic goals for yourself for each day, week, and month. Allow yourself room to make mistakes and learn from the mistakes you make. Take time with yourself this year even if that means being selfish, you’ll never be able to attract and hold on to the things you desire in life if you continue to carry too much baggage.
